2025 pickleball LEAGUES

PICKLEBALL SKILL LEVEL DETERMINATIONS

To ensure competitive and enjoyable play, our pickleball leagues are divided into three skill levels: Beginner, Recreation, and Intermediate. Below is a guide to help players determine which level best suits their abilities.

Beginner Pickleball Level

• Players are new to pickleball or have limited experience.
• Learning basic rules, scoring, and court positioning.
• Working on fundamental skills such as serving, dinking, and volleys.
• Movement on the court is limited, and reaction time is still developing.
• Primarily focused on fun and gaining experience in gameplay.

Recreation Pickleball Level

• Players have some experience with pickleball and understand the rules.
• Comfortable with serving, rallying, and scoring.
• Can sustain short rallies with moderate control and consistency.
• Learning and applying basic strategies such as shot placement and positioning.
• Still improving accuracy, consistency, and shot variety.

Intermediate Pickleball Level

• Players have significant experience with pickleball and a strong understanding of the game.
• Can sustain longer rallies with controlled shots and placement.
• Demonstrates consistent serves, dinks, and volleys with accuracy.
• Uses strategic play, including third-shot drops, lobs, and controlled net play.
• Moves efficiently around the court and anticipates opponents’ shots.
• Plays at a faster pace with improved reflexes and shot execution.

Players are encouraged to select the skill level that best aligns with their abilities to ensure fair and competitive matches. If uncertain about placement, our league coordinators can assist in determining the appropriate level.
